Most of the book trade is split across separate sites: one to buy new, another for second-hand copies, another to self-publish, another to read ebooks. Bookshelf puts them on one platform, with one account.
One book, every edition
Each book has a single page. On it you'll find every way to own it: a new copy shipped by us, used copies from independent sellers around the world, an ebook you can read in the browser, and a print-on-demand edition printed when you order. You choose by price, condition and how soon you need it.
One account, three roles
The same account that buys books can sell the ones you've finished and publish the one you've written. Each role has its own workspace, so a seller's orders never get mixed up with a reader's library.
Trust before money moves
For used books we hold the buyer's payment until they confirm the book arrived as described. Condition grades are explained in plain words, fees are listed in full, and shipping costs are shown before checkout, never after.
This is a preview
Bookshelf is a working name, and this site runs on sample data. The books, authors, sellers, ratings and orders you see are made up to show how the platform works. Payments are simulated.
